Happy New Year!

Happy 2019!

Please join us for Mass to begin 2019.  Mass times are:

New Year’s Eve       4:30pm

New Year’s Day      10:00am

Please Join Us for Christmas

Christmas_card_2015Our Advent celebration begins with light in the midst of darkness, the light of a candle, the bright light of a tree.  This light beckons us to draw near to the Word of God and to the Word made Flesh in the Eucharist.  It leads us also to celebrate the coming of the Light of Lights.  May the days of Advent lead us to a bright and joyful celebration of Jesus, Incarnate among us, and to his manifestation to the world in Epiphany.

Blessings to you and yours!

Fr. Robert J. Kropac,  Pastor

On Christmas Eve, services will begin at 4:00 pm with a musical prelude and Mass at 4:30 pm.  On Christmas Day, Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.  All are welcome to share this joyous time with us at St. Wendelin Parish!

Advent Season

Advent2015Beginning the Church’s liturgical year, Advent (from, “ad-venire” in Latin or “to come to”) is the season encompassing the four Sundays (and weekdays) leading up to the celebration of Christmas.

The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas. The final days of Advent, from December 17 to December 24, focus particularly on our preparation for the celebrations of the Nativity of our Lord (Christmas).

Advent devotions, including the Advent wreath, remind us of the meaning of the season.  The purple candles symbolize the prayer, penance, and preparatory sacrifices and good works undertaken at this time. The rose candle is lit on the third Sunday, Gaudete Sunday, when the priest also wears rose vestments at Mass; Gaudete Sunday is the Sunday of rejoicing, because the faithful have arrived at the midpoint of Advent, when their preparation is now half over and they are close to Christmas.

A Letter From Father Kropac

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

On November 6th, Fr. Kropac distributed a very important letter to our parishioners.  A copy of that letter can be found at this link along with hard copies available in the back of church.

Also, on November 12th, Bishop Perez published a letter on the protection of children.  A link to that letter on the Diocese of Cleveland website is provided below.
